Samsung Galaxy A54: This is one of the latest Samsung mid-range phones. Samsung Galaxy A54 is part of Samsung’s new generation of premium A series mid-range. It sticks to a very familiar formula but also brings more upgrades in a more powerful chipset and a new main camera. Let’s have a look at what Samsung can offer at the price point especially considering.

Display & Design

In the front of the phone is a 6.4-inch super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is smaller than last year’s 6.5-inch display but the aspect ratio is slightly wider too. It also has a Samsung version booster feature which shifts to tone mapping and colors based on ambient light to improve visibility. This AMOLED display looks great as expected. It is sharp with deep blacks. It supports for HDR 10 plus and the color accuracy here can be excellent depending on the color setting you choose.

Battery: The Samsung A54 has a 5000 million power battery. It does better on screen on tests though and was able to earn an excellent overall endurance rating of 119 hours. The A54 is rated for 25-watt charging and the charger doesn’t come in the box with a proper Samsung adapter. We are able to charge the phone from 0 to 56 percent in half an hour. And also there is no wireless charging unfortunately and you can charge up to 25 watts. I do wish it did have wireless charging of course but aging you do make sacrifices at certain price points. It also has an IP67 rating so dust and water-resistant.

You will also get a Samsung wallet in it because you get NFC inbuilt. Along with that, secure folder, Knox security, and there will be no problems regarding privacy and security. The software experience we have checked so far. No major bugs we noticed and no lag shutter was seen much.

Performance

Experience lightning-fast processing speeds and stunning graphics with the new Exynos 1380 chipset in the Samsung Galaxy A54. When it comes to thermal management though the A54 left more to be desired at least when it came to our CPU stress test where the stability is a bit rocky.

The 1380 processor should handle most tasks if you do a lot of higher-end gaming. You will notice some throttling, especially after gaming for a certain period of time but that’s just on higher and it has a base of 6-7 gigs of RAM. The CPU throttle which was earlier around 85%, is now around 78%, not much change is seen in that too. App open-close, multitasking, read-write speed is better. We have tested games etc, and played well. Everything works fine. There was no problem. You can play BGMI, and Call Duty games.

Network Connectivity

The call quality of the Samsung A54 is very good. It supports a 5G SIM card, so we tried by inserting 5G SIM card in both slots. You will get a hybrid slot so, if you want, you can insert a SIM and memory card. When we made a call, there were not any issues of call drops, it depends on your network availability. The data speed was also very good in 5G.

RAM And Storage Support

With RAM up to 8 GB LPDDR4X and ROM up to 256 GB UFS 3.1. App open-close, multitasking, read-write speed is better. When we tried copy-pasting, it was very fast.

Camera Quality

The Samsung A54 brings up with a new 50-megapixel main, 12-megapixel Ulterwide, and 5-megapixel micro camera. During the day the main camera(50-megapixel) captures excellent photos. Photos are expressive with vibrant colors, accurate white balance, high contrast, wide range and details are great too. If you are shooting with the main camera at night, the Galaxy A54 will automatically apply night mode processing to the photos. The Ultrawide camera(12-megapixel) photos are nice. The colors are fairly consistent with the main camera and you will get good contrast and a decent level of detail. The close-up photos from the macro camera(5-megapixel) are okay, there are enough details and the colors are accurate.

Capture beautifully balanced exposures with a wide dynamic range and well-defined tonal extremes in every photo. The detail level is excellent too. The white balance is generally accurate though. The Ultrawide camera is just so low in light, the detail level is decent and so dynamic but the colors are washed out. You do not get auto-night mode processing here.

The Samsung A54 32-megapixel front-facing camera can produce 12-megapixel selfies due to pixel vining. The photos are excellent with great details rendered in a very natural way colors are accurate and the dynamic range is very good.

Video Quality: The Galaxy A54 can record video in up to 4k at 35fps with both of its rear cameras. The quality from the main camera is excellent. There is plenty of details with natural contrast and very good dynamic range. The colors are good and there is no noise. The Ultrawide footage isn’t quite as good, there is a decent level of detail but looks heavily processed and the dynamic range or color are accurate. In low light, the main camera can produce good detailed video of moderate lightening but highlights tend to be very harsh and colors are a little washed out.

Final Words

So, the Samsung Galaxy A54 is all around excellent mid range. The display, battery life, and camera quality are all great and of course, you will get IP-rated ingress protection compared with other mid-range you don’t get super fast charging here, and while the chipset is nice upgrade over the previous model it doesn’t blow anyone away. Well Samsung Galaxy A54 is a really well-rounded device that is worth recommending. Most people buy Samsung phones because it is a very famous brand. The display is excellent, featuring a glass back. The design is also appealing, especially the white variant which adds a premium touch. Additionally, you can enjoy a higher refresh rate of 120 HZ, a smooth software experience, a reliable battery backup, and much more.
